Make happy memories with your children and have a day out at Platform 1 Heritage Farm Railway, just 10 minutes from Hahndorf.

You will be captivated by this farms history of six generations as you travel by train through the farmyard and out into the open paddock. Tina the sheep will give you a personal tour of her paddock as she helps Glenn the driver to drive your train.

Say Hi to Miss Moo the cow, Captain the horse, the piglets, guinea pigs and meet and feed the other friendly farm animals.

Dress up as you play on the hands on railway displays. Be the train driver or fireman. Make the signals work and the bells ring.

Sit back and relax by the crackling fire with a cuppa and homemade scones while the children play the old fashioned out door games, mingle with the animals and breathe the fresh Hills air.

Platform 1 Heritage Farm Railway at Junction Road, Littlehampton is open from 10am 6 days (closed Wednesdays) and is open every day during the school holidays from 10am. The train departs hourly from 11am. Admission cost is $9 adult, $6 children and $28 for a family.

Platform 1 Light & Sound Show

The only Light & Sound Show in the Adelaide Hills…(Nov to March)

Using special effects, lighting and sound, this night time show is one that creates an entertaining and exciting atmosphere for all.

The Show depicts early German settlement in the Adelaide Hills and describes how they forged their farming and family life in this new land. Visitors are transported by train as the farm comes back to life to tell remarkable stories of yesteryear. Listen as the machines stir themselves from their slumber and hear the farming noises of the past. Be there as a bushfire rages through the creek, and seek shelter from the lightning storm! Sit in the original Barn and learn the trials and triumphs of these courageous pioneers.

The Platform 1 Light & Sound Show is held every Friday and Saturday night after dusk from November to March and also includes a country style supper served in a 1955 railway dining carriage.
