Mountadam winery

Con Moshos has worked in the South Australian wine industry since he was 20, having begun part-time work at Petaluma in the Adelaide Hills while studying for his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry at the University of Adelaide. He undertook postgraduate studies at Roseworthy Agricultural College in Oenology and Viticulture which he completed in 1984.

He joined Petaluma in 1985 to become an integral part of the phenomenal success of the company. Con worked very closely with one of the industry’s great luminaries, Brian Croser and eventually succeeded him as chief winemaker. During his time with Petaluma he travelled extensively and gained a wealth of experience making wine not only from the best regions in South Australia, but also the Hunter Valley, California, Oregon, Bordeaux and Champagne.

After 24 years at Petaluma, Con took up the chief winemaking reins of Mountadam Vineyards, relishing the opportunity to apply his skills to another renowned, terroir focused Australian wine estate. His passion for wine was a natural consequence of his upbringing in a strong European food and wine cultured family.
