Hentley Farm

Set among the rolling hills on the banks of Greenock Creek at Seppeltsfield, Hentley Farm is a boutique, single estate vineyard that produces distinctive wines reflective of the exceptional site.

We specialise in producing premium quality single-estate and single-block wines solely from the vines grown on our Seppeltsfield property – an old 150 acre vineyard and mixed farming property on the banks of Greenock Creek which Hentley Farm’s founders Keith and Alison Hentschke acquired in the 1990s.

We look at ourselves as ‘winegrowers’, with our winemaking accentuating characteristics of the vineyard from vine to bottle, and we take a leading edge approach to vineyard management, while also ensuring the sustainability of our practices and recognising our custodial responsibility of the land. Following this philosophy, Hentley Farm produces distinctive wines that display elegance, subtlety, richness and complexity.

Our intimate cellar door is housed in the property’s original 1840’s homestead, which has been painstakingly restored to retain its original charm. It provides the perfect environment for an exceptional boutique wine experience. Hentley Farm Restaurant was opened in May 2012 in the property’s elegantly restored stables, perched among the vines on the banks of Greenock Creek.

Since the first vintage in 2002, Hentley Farm has cemented itself as one of Australia’s leading boutique wineries, being awarded a rare 5 red-stars and placed in the top 3.8% of all Australian wineries by acclaimed wine writer James Halliday, with the comment “It hardly needs to be said the emphasis is on quality”.
