Hemera Estate formally known as Ross Estate is a 20 year old southern Barossa Winery with 110 acres of vines which was originally developed by Darius Ross and his wife Pauline. This rich land is home to an abundance of quality vines with many different grape varieties including the defining 101 year Old Vine Grenache.

The first vintage made on site was in 2000 and the Semillon from that vintage won the winery its first Trophy at the Barossa Wine Show. This wine was later served on the Queen on Englands table during a visit to Adelaide.

In 2013 the vineyard changed names from Ross Estate to Hemera Estate, The new beginning as Hemera Estate will bring a stronger focus on the viticulture, winemaking and overall style. Together these components will reflect the super premium image to which hemera strives to deliver.

The word Hemera is of Greek origin which means goddess of day light. This name was chosen to highlight the fact that our property is one of the first vineyards in the Southern Barossa to receive the morning light.
