Bordertown & Keith
The Tatiara region is ideally positioned on the main Adelaide – Melbourne Dukes Highway. Less than three hours drive from Adelaide and five hours from Melbourne, it is the gateway to South Australia and the Limestone Coast tourism region.
Take the Historic Drive around the Tatiara District starting at the Bordertown Visitor Centre at the end of Woolshed Street. Be sure to visit Bob’s Bust, a tribute to the birthplace of one of our more colourful Prime Ministers.
The round trip takes a couple of hours and is about 50km long, and can be broken by a fantastic lunch at the historic Old Mundulla Hotel and a wander through the Clayton Farm Heritage Museum – a must see spot for the whole family.
It is also worth stopping in for a wander around the rural township of Keith, with a number of excellent dining spots, and a great art and history walk.
Tatiara – an aboriginal word for “Good Country”.
