Happy Valley Way Happy Valley SA 5069
Twenty kilometres from the CBD, Happy Valley is the pinnacle of suburban life with plenty of leafy parks, shops and one of Adelaides oldest wineries.
Once a large farming and grape growing district, Happy Valley
is a convenient area to visit with good shopping, transport, medical facilities, take-away shops and a wonderful assortment of recreational pursuits.
Within the suburb is the Happy Valley Reservoir, home to South Australias largest water treatment plant, which is responsible for supplying water to much of the Adelaide metropolitan area. The reservoir was built in the late 1890s to service the burgeoning population in the region. Four years in the making, the most striking feature of the reservoirs heritage is the valve tower built from Morphett Vale and Murray Bridge stone.
There are a number of parks and playgrounds in Happy Valley, some containing wetlands. Fountain Valley Reserve is an ideal place to feed the ducks, with the nearby Tangari Regional Park a good option for bushwalking.
