Port Willunga

Back in 1888, Port Willunga gained notoriety when the sailing ship Star of Greece ran aground during a fierce storm and became one of South Australias worst maritime disasters. Its now a site frequented by snorkellers and scuba divers but you dont have to get wet to see the wreck at low tide it can often be seen jutting out of the ocean, just north of the jetty.

Port Willunga was once one of South Australias busiest outports and the home of a thriving fishing industry. Today, its a popular holiday destination, especially during summer, and its easy to see why.

This glistening beach is one of the citys best, where many lazy summer days can be spent enjoying the ocean.

Snapper Point

Looking over the Aldinga Reef Aquatic Reserve, Snapper Point is a unique formation established as a reserve for rare reef features and a fish breeding ground making snorkelling and diving a popular underwater activity. The reserve is easily accessible by boat, using the ramp at Aldinga Beach. With its rocky reef outcrops and rolling sand dunes, the beach is a perfect spot for youngsters to go exploring, while the stunning cliffs are popular for paragliding.
